In the state of Uttar Pradesh Medical , Dental and Paramedical colleges are established for providing a comprehensive medical education. Functions and Duties of Director General Medical Education is as Follows :-

 1- DGME's important functions are to run and strengthen Medical and Dental Colleges and other Medical/Paramedical diploma, degree, Post Graduate and Super Specialty programs in the State of U.P.

2- Make a arrangement of high quality research on different subjects in State medical colleges.

3- Provide standard medical facilities to their patients. In this way directorate provides a good educational training facilities in various medical, dental and paramedical colleges and on the other hand, it also provides standard and latest medical facilities to the patients.
